The Bay Area Justice Funders Network (BAJFN) celebrated APEN’s civic engagement successes at the “Gaining Ground, Building Momentum for Movements” on March 14, 2013 in San Francisco, California.
APEN discussed the significance of the state’s changing demographics and the emergence of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) electorate as part of the progressive majority in California. Along with California Calls and Alliance San Diego, APEN also discussed the significance of passing Proposition 30 and the critical role base building organizations play in building long term electoral infrastructure throughout California.
The event coincided with the release of the BAJFN report entitled “Funding Movement Building: Bay Area Approaches,” a survey of more than 40 grant making organizations throughout the Bay Area.
